Cold winds flew by the welcoming window
Yet heat tenses up
Reminding it's just me, only me
Echoes of my voice tingling in my ear, loud and clear
Longing for something that couldn't be
Hollow space etched within dug deep
Plastered papers from above, remained unseen
I craved the essence where my soul can breathe in this empty space
To find my own peace
Tears descend from the window to my soul
Melancholy of songs
In these hands a screen aglow
Ephemeral people who come and go
Through the screen, beyond the barrier
I saw something that could make me sway
Where my world seemed to stand still
I existed no more, in this land full of fakes
Diving in the bond of waters
Where I can soak my loneliness
With a nonexistent contagious laughter
Struck a beam into my heart's void
For once, I knew what it feels to be whole
The warmth I never knew is now this close
So true, so close, a touch away
Even when I realize I can never have them
Forever bound to this screen's display
I yearn for family, a hand to hold
A shoulder to lean on, a backbone of my success
But reality's harsh storms of roars cause my soul to waver
Where I sail on my own on this deck
My silent pleas hope to be heard
In a home where I can be
Does it make me weak? Desperately longing for a family of mine?
I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
At least for now, I found a piece of solace in this light
Of newfound virtual friendship, burning bright.
