Purposely Unkempt

Hailie Woodring
Dirty and clean
Laundry piles
Scattered
Unrecognizable
Paintings and drawings
On walls
Scribbled
And detailed
Picture frames
Holding memories
New and old
Boxes of childish
Toys waiting in vain
To be sold
Half of a water bottle
Still yet to quench
A thirst
Smells of faint coconut
And Vanilla
From the plug in the wall
Lipstick and eyeshadow
Strewn in annoyance
Being the wrong color
For the outfit
Every detail
Every object
Perfectly placed
As if you were still living
The longer I leave it
The same
The more I convince myself
You never left
